I was emotionally aware enough to know that I should not ask my mom about my dad and why he left and why does she have to work abroad bcs I knew it would hurt her. As I grew up, my dad would always say, 'Wag ka magalit sakin nak ha' Neither my mom nor my dad ever explained anything, so it was hell for me to uncover everything on my own. As my brain developed, I noticed things and figured out what their relationship really was, as well as where I stood in my dad’s life. It was so soul-wrecking that I started making bad decisions. I couldn’t blame anyone, because how do you process hating what they did while simultaneously being so parent-deprived that you still needed them? I hated the setup, but I was so needy for my parents for a child who was left all alone😂

I understand why they left me. my parent needs to work away from home. in such a young age i understood everything. I'm thankful that my grandparents raised me well and they love me to the point that every time a think of them now, tears fall from my face because i miss them both, especially my mamalola who loved me like as her youngest child. we live a simple life then and it was happy and beautiful. we live a happy life then. they never failed to give the things i need and wants. they love me both like treasure they can't afford to lose. I miss my old home. I miss them very much, and I love them so much.

At the age of 5, I was labelled as "mature" & "smart". The day my mom left me, she didn't explain anything to me. I just overheard her talking to my Grandmother, "She'll understand". I pretended I did, wiped my tears, and stood still. 19 years, countless days, turned out I still don't understand why she had to abandon me.
