I think too many people are grocery shopping without being able to cook things from scratch. Convenience foods, snacks, and frozen meals are way more expensive than ingredients

$300 a week on groceries is wild. You're spending $15 PER MEAL if you eat 3 meals a day. you could be eating out for every meal for that much

they're not buying groceries. They're constantly eating out/ordering delivery because there's no way they're spending $300 a week. $300 is my monthly budget

No one's paying attention to cost being different in different areas but ok.

as someone who lives alone, I could easily do 300/week...if I'm hosting regular dinner parties with lots of guests. or if I was an alcoholic.

Honestly I’m always shocked about how people shop. Ya gotta cook. That’s the trick to spending less. You’re gonna do a shit ton of cooking.

Coupons are still a thing (mostly online/app), shopping around and comparing prices on products too. There is many ways to save money on groceries.

I have a 4 adult household, that includes 2 6'4" construction workers. We go through a lot of meat and we don't spend close to that.

Oh no did you say the word "sacrifice"!?!? No no we don't sacrifice 😂 people want all the entertainment and conveniences + their needs all for cheap. There's little accountability or sacrifice nowadays

I spend $150/week for a family of 3, but I shop at Aldi or buy store brands for 90% of my purchases

i am a private chef and my client spends maybe that for their family of 4. (neuro surgeon and neuroscientist) they buy all organic but no processed food. that’s what really runs up your grocery bill.

I spent approximately 600 to 700 on groceries, but that’s including my cleaning supplies and my cat food and other stuff for my cats. If I had to guess it’s probably about 400 to 450 a month for me.

I include stuff like toiletries and paper products as groceries, so yeah I spend $200 a week on groceries give or take idk how people don’t. I buy in bulk, but rotating needing tp, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, laundry detergent, facial products, deodorant, seasonings, sauces, cooking oil, etc. adds up fast. The actual “food” I buy usually is only $50 or less

I spend $170-$220 a week for 4 people, and that covers all 3 meals for everyone. The price range depends on the current sales going on. If it’s a good sale I buy extra and store it for other weeks. So the higher cost weeks are actually good sale weeks and it allows us to have the lower cost weeks because we get to buy less those weeks.
