You can power wash engines but just stay away from the alternator WD-40 is not seen as a degreaser but more as a lubricant

When i do a job like that i always have the engine running. If i was to hear a misfire i stop immediately.

I work for a plant hire company and we jet wash engines all the time, try and avoid ecu or major electrics but Aslong as you have isolator off and you let it dry for 20 minutes Ive never had an issue

After washing the engine bay of a machine you should always start it up so the alternator and starter motor can dry out

I use kerosene mighty tac for removing oil. Spray with budgie can and give good powerwash. Engine be shining after
