*sigh* Is this really still a mystery?? It has plant knowledge, birthing positions, star lore....oh, but you say it doesn't match "what we know"? As if it wasn't written in code or anything, to keep the writers safe, and maybe now the cipher is lost? At the time women were being burned for "being witches" when all they were doing was practicing ancient herblore. They wanted their knowledge to continue, and thus probably wrote it in code in book meant to be passed down in secret, along with the cipher. Just because the cipher has probably been lost does not make this book "alien".

it's a spell book....talks about transferring consciousness into other bodies, stealing/borrowing fate from stars, etc. pretty neat. written in medieval latin, same that was being used during that time period. it's spells so it has many repetitive words which is why they claimed it must be in some unknown language
