Here are some useful Chinese expressions! 1. 个子 (gèzi) 个子 refers to a person’s height or stature. * 高个子 = a tall person * 矮个子 = a short person Examples: * 她个子很高。 Tā gèzi hěn gāo. She is tall. * 我个子不高。 Wǒ gèzi bù gāo. I’m not very tall. Notice that in English we simply say “She is tall,” not “Her height is tall.” ⸻ 2. 身材 (shēncái) 身材 describes a person’s figure or body shape, not their face. Examples: * 她身材很好。 Tā shēncái hěn hǎo. She has a great figure. * 他身材很瘦。 Tā shēncái hěn shòu. He has a slim build. * 她身材很高挑。 Tā shēncái hěn gāotiǎo. She has a tall, slender figure. ⸻ 3. 有 + noun Chinese often uses 有 (“have”) to describe physical features. Examples: * 她有玫瑰纹身。 Tā yǒu méigui wénshēn. She has a rose tattoo. * 他有黑头发。 Tā yǒu hēi tóufa. He has black hair. * 她有蓝眼睛。 Tā yǒu lán yǎnjing. She has blue eyes. ⸻ 4. 戴着 (dài zhe) 戴 (dài) means to wear accessories, and 着 (zhe) shows the state of wearing them. Examples: * 她戴着银耳环。 Tā dài zhe yín ěrhuán. She is wearing silver earrings. * 他戴着眼镜。 Tā dài zhe yǎnjìng. He is wearing glasses. * 她戴着帽子。 Tā dài zhe màozi. She is wearing a hat. ⸻ 5. 没有问题 (méiyǒu wèntí) A very common expression meaning “Everything is fine” or “There is no problem.” Examples: * 她没有问题。 Tā méiyǒu wèntí. She checks out. * 没问题！ Méi wèntí! No problem! * 我觉得她没有问题。 Wǒ juéde tā méiyǒu wèntí. I think she’s good to go. ✨ Which expression will you use first?
