@upper.coffee.house: Trước khi chạm đến căn phòng nhỏ trên tầng 3 của Upper, bạn sẽ đi qua một lối cầu thang gỗ đã sờn theo năm tháng. Hai bên là hàng chục bức tranh đầy màu sắc của cô Hằng - cô chủ của căn nhà này, được các chú họa sĩ ở tầng 1 gửi tặng và gìn giữ suốt nhiều năm. Có bức là những đóa hoa rực rỡ, có bức khắc họa hình ảnh người phụ nữ với nhiều hình tượng khác nhau. Mỗi bức tranh đều mang theo một câu chuyện, một lát cắt ký ức, hay những tâm tư mà cô Hằng đã nâng niu gửi gắm. Vì thế, mỗi lần bước lên những bậc cầu thang gỗ ấy, tụi mình luôn có cảm giác bình yên chậm rãi đi qua một triển lãm nghệ thuật rất riêng của căn nhà. Upper may mắn nằm ở cuối hành trình nhỏ ấy, trên tầng 3. Trước khi gặp căn phòng nhiều nắng của tụi mình, dường như bạn đã kịp đi qua những sắc màu, ký ức và câu chuyện đã hiện diện ở đây từ rất lâu. Cảm ơn cô Hằng đã gìn giữ căn nhà bằng tất cả tình yêu dành cho nghệ thuật. Và cảm ơn các chú họa sĩ ở tầng 1 đã tạo nên một lối đi thật đẹp, để mỗi vị khách ghé Upper đều bắt đầu hành trình của mình bằng một cuộc gặp gỡ với hội họa. 18 months ago… my 37-year-old husband almost died. A massive hemorrhagic stroke. Then ARDS. Pneumonia. A pulmonary embolism. Lung failure. The doctors gave him a 10% chance of surviving. And if he did survive… they said he would likely never walk again and probably never use his left side. I remember thinking about our daughter.
