Would love to see actual african actors perform in films inspired by african culture. We love our american and European stars but they’re often horrible with accents.

I really want to know what the authors issue is. She was writing the script, so I'm curious as to why roads diverged. The few interviews I've seen the cast seems really proud of this and Regina King is singing praise - which for me, carries weight. I know she's not going to speak on it, but I wonder if its hubris or did they deviate so far from the source material she doesn't relate?
