Here are the areas you should pay close attention to: 📍1. Chest Line Your chest line determines how your neckline and upper bust will sit. If this line is placed too high or too low, you'll experience gaping, spillage, or an uncomfortable fit. 📍 2. Bust Point Your bust point should always correspond to the client's apex. Never use one standard bust point for every client. A misplaced apex causes the cup to point in the wrong direction and affects the overall fit. 📍3. Dart Intake This is where many designers struggle. For an average bust, a dart intake of 1½"-2" per princess seam is common, but it should always be adjusted according to the client's bust fullness. For fuller or bustier clients, avoid using the same dart intake you use for smaller busts. Instead: ✔️Increase the dart intake gradually based on the difference between the bust, underbust, and waist measurements. ✔️Spread the shaping smoothly through the princess seam rather than taking everything from one point. ✔️Blend your curves properly to avoid a sharp "pointy bust.! Remember: The fuller the bust, the more shaping the pattern needs- not necessarily one huge dart. 📍 4. Underbust Shaping The underbust is what gives your bustier that snatched, structured appearance. Interfacing Matters Even a perfect pattern can fail if you use the wrong interfacing.
