my mother gave birth to her first child in ohio at the age of 12. they told her the baby died. when my mother was around 40, that child contacted her to find out why she gave him up for adoption. that pushed her into even further psychosis.

I was recently told the story of how one of my great aunts had a baby boy. They took him away and later came back to tell her he passed away. They said she couldn’t see him, and subsequently never saw him again. This was at least 50 years back, possibly more. She was left with no closure, wondering what happened, and if he really passed. I think it’s very much a possibility something nefarious like this could be the reason. I can’t imagine how traumatic these crimes must be for mothers who are targeted. Absolutely vile acts.
