put it into law that companies are not allowed to replace real jobs with AI. China have done this and it works. what will you do when we all retrain and then there isn't enough jobs in trade? AI is destroying us and our economy. stop it now

Alstom is not completely closing its Widnes Transport Technology Centre, but it is pausing all train modernisation and production activities at the site by the end of October 2026 due to a downturn in project work. The facility will transition into a national logistics and parts storage hub, resulting in around 120 job and contractor losses... talk to the leaders at Widnes....

Andy! Can you do anything to support returning to work parents who are rejoining the workforce after years out? I honestly think we need a huge retraining scheme where people who trained to do something 15 years ago are no longer able to work on that area due to being out of the environment for several years.

He’s right. We have all the journalists , sports scientists, film studies graduates that we can ever find jobs for. What the country desperately needs is people who can build stuff - houses, cars, washing machines, ships and people who are able to fix stuff that brakes. Please give this lad a chance guys - I think he might have some good ideas of how to get the country out of the ***t.
