My cat is like this. I feel like consistent affection within their boundaries help a lot. Like head pets or pets when they are out in the open.

Aww we have one of those too. She's a sweetheart but she terrified of pretty much just existing. She has her own room in the house now that only her microchip can enter so she can escape the other cats. We call it her panic room lol

we have a kitty we’ve had from birth that was just like this. she’s almost 3 now & is attached to my daughter like glue & is slowly starting to come to us for pets before retreating again. give her time 🐱

I have a kitty that is like that too. Her name is Zivah. She’s 4 and has been with us since she was 3 months old & still doesn’t let us near her much. She’s happy with my other 5 though and we just leave her be. 🙂
