Okay so this isn’t Rick and Morty, this is time traveling. This is what is called a paradox. (I’ll number it so you don’t get confused but the numbers mean nothing) Steven 1 picked up the time capsule things happened and went back in time to warn Steven -1 to not pick up the capsule, ended up destroying it, creating a paradox where Steven -1 never went back in time because he was never able to get the capsule to begin with. This is our original Steven, he’s just living in a time paradox where he never picked up the capsule, and since Steven 1 destroyed it, he never existed to begin with, so future 1 never existed, still same universe, just how the creator said, alternative timeline. There are no other timelines, because since Steven 1 went back in time, Steven -1 was never able to continue the timeline. Steven 1 and his whole timeline of events never existed to begin with.

not necessarily its the same one just him going back in time during the same day it tempers with time not timelines it wouldn't be able to send him to alternate universe it would be impossible for that to happen because the gems would of been different
