@davidjonesmental: These are 10 of the truths about OCD and Anxiety that helped me the most with my healing: 1. When my brain is worrying about the same topic it always does, that does not mean the fear must be true. That means the fear is a lie. The fear shows I am no longer viewing accurate reality and my brain is now imagining things up again to scare me. 2. OCD and anxiety in no way shows reality. They just show what you are the most against happening. Your brain will then warn you of this worst case reality no matter how untrue it is. 3. OCD/anxiety are not conditions you have forever. They are subconscious patterns that you can rewire and be free for good. I have been free for years now and it will never “come back” 4. The more terrified your brain is towards that same fear as always, the more it shows your brain is lying to you and is very out of touch with true reality. The fears are LIES. 5. If you let your emotions determine your beliefs you will stay a victim to your emotions. Instead you must decide what you want to believe because it’s worth believing it whether you can feel it or not. 6. You can decide what you want to believe. Don’t base that decision off of what you already feel and believe. Base it off of what you want to teach your brain to feel and believe. 7. You have subconscious and conscious thoughts. You can control your mind. So when you make your conscious mind the goal then it gives you all the control and power you could ever want. 8. With neuroplasticity your brain is a world of opportunity for designing it to be how you want it to be. But it’s not just by repeating a sentence. It’s by repeatedly making a decision of what you actually want to view as real. 9. Your brain wants to terrify you because it thinks it’s the best way to protect you. If you want to heal you have to change the goal of your brain and teach your brain that the good beliefs and confidence will better protect you more than the fears will. 10. You can’t convince your brain to change. You must think and behave as if you already have the change and the reality you want. Then your brain will automatically change. #ocdawareness #ocdproblems #anxietyawareness #ocd #anxietydisorder
“Belief is a decision. It’s not a feeling.” This jumped out at me. I’m not diagnosed, but I feel as if I have religious OCD. I get super anxious over if I’m doing something right for God and it gets to the point where I can’t just sit down and rest without my mind racing like, “You’re not doing enough. You’re going to Hell.” and all that junk. I know He exists and I accepted Jesus as my Lord and my Savior, so why am I worried? Just have to keep trusting in Jesus. I’m okay. Thank you for posting this. ❤️🙏

As someone who was in an abusive 15 year relationship … I’m eaten alive trying to differentiate intuition from past trauma . It’s awful .

THIS plus NAC supplement helped me along with taking sertaline & hydroxyzine the side effects for sertaline at first were AWFUL but I stuck it out and one day I woke up with a quiet mind and it’s been like that since 175mg was my sweet spot. I also did genesite testing through my Psychitrist which got covered by insurance to find what medications work for me and what don’t. Also something else that really helped me is probability ≠ possibility. With most ocd themes of course we have to live with uncertainty and that anything is possible but the probability of it actually happen is were we can find peace. For example health ocd.. it’s possible you could have a heart attack but the probability of it actually happening when you look at the facts of your overall health/ age/ family history is very slim ya know
