If I remember correctly, she since been diagnosed with bipolar. Please search bipolar’s reaction to SSRIs. They’re drastic and quick. Took me 3 doses to realize Prozac was FUCKING me

I also don’t understand how people are expecting someone in psychosis to be capable of following her treatment plan. Her going from doctor to doctor and trying different meds but discontinuing them doesn’t seem to weaken their case like the prosecution wants.

The fact that people think her not taking all of the meds is some ah ha moment is wild. She was in psychosis - so of course she wasn’t capable of following a treatment plan. Ale even a few ills here and there can cause a change in your brain chemistry.

I understand that the meds she was prescribed take a while to work, for example Zoloft. But I’ve personally stopped taking meds after 2-3 doses because it made me feel worse, and I wasn’t able to feel worse. When you’re already struggling, you can’t afford to feel worse. And im sure that’s how she felt. Some side effects are awful, and I can’t speak for her, but I’m sure that’s what happened here. So that might help the prosecution, but I’m hoping a medical expert chimes in on this topic specifically. Ty for your perspective! I personally can’t watch the trial itself because it’s too much for me. But I appreciate the summaries and perspectives from others!

And you know what a psychiatrically sick brain is notoriously bad at?? Keeping up with taking medications that have been ordered! Literally the organ that is sick is the same one in charge of following through with taking medication. Psych patients are commonly bad at taking meds because of fatigue, hopelessness, failure to see them helping even if they are, and paranoia of them. The prosecution's claim that this was because Lindsey didn't care enough to take them is making me physically ill because it communicates that they understand almost nothing about mental health 😭

I’m a licensed mental health practitioner and can guarantee you that one Zoloft pill when you were bipolar can activate maniac without subsequent pills being added to it. I see it all the time in my practice, and that one pill reaction is my biggest red flag to ask them to stop and revisit with their provider.

We do not know what is going in inside of people. My friend was happy and all laughing one evening. We had several ppl for dinner. Looked super happy. Next day she tempted suic@de and barely survived. So, smiling in pictures means nothing. I still look at those pictures from night before and can’t believe how there were zero signs she didn’t want to live.

As a therapist I can tell you that just a couple of doses of Zoloft can trigger underlying bipolar disorder. If this is what happened, which it very much seems like it did, then she was absolutely feeling worse and needed to stop the Zoloft.

Don’t think the fact that the prosecution is showing that Lindsay Clancy only took let’s say seven pills is all loft is going to be further helpful once experts, then speak on the medication because it can be a few doses to exacerbate bipolar symptoms

You really think that helped the defense 😳 staying home on anniversary was the only swing and miss everything else she nailed her: didn’t take the meds, lied about thc to doctors, lied to husband about hospitalization, googling suicide before she took a med, lied about starting Zoloft, had a nanny and didn’t return to work. Most people are saying he appeared aloof and uncaring not. Her whole defense is she was taking too

They said how many pills were left in the bottle but not about when it was filled/refilled. Wish they’d clarified if it had been filled months ago and only 7 missing… or just refilled 7 days before, not the initial bottle

agree! also i felt the prosecutor asking about the children and their interests was a weak angle. i see what they’re trying to do, humanize the children but ultimately that isn’t going to change the jury’s viewpoint. (in my opinion)
