And you’ll mysteriously never see them bring up how to help these people or what to do for them, they only seem to care about them when they can use it as an excuse to paint their victim complex

Also, many of these Christian people in other countries who are facing oppression in other countries aren’t actually being targeted for their Christianity, or at least not primarily because they’re Christian. The conflict in Nigeria (if I remember correctly) is largely an ethnic and cultural issue, not primarily a religious one.

To me, a lifelong atheist, your channel gave me the first basic understanding of why faith may actually make sense for some people and inspired me to read more. But seeing how most other Americans display faith, it just irritates me more that none of the nuance is there

Evangelicals and conservative Christians just love seeing themselves as victims and martyrs. They love it. I don’t know why. But these are the least persecuted human beings in history. They control all of the levers of power in this country and use them ruthlessly to oppress and marginalize the people they hate and to promote their version of Christianity and white supremacy. And yet the fell they have to be poor oppressed victims too. I saw a video where some evangelical moron was bemoaning the fact that he couldn’t personalize his Coca Cola can with the inscription ‘Jesus Loves me’ and that was proof he was persecuted.

I would argue the most persecuted christians in the US rn are catholics based upon who ICE are illegally detaining. but christian nationalists dont think catholics are christians anyways so they dont care.
