he may have bullied Harry but not everyone realized he saw the love of his life everyday in Harry. He also saw the same man that bullied him everyday and made his life miserable at his time in hogwarts also in Harry. Snapes life wasn't just miserable at home is was miserable at hogwarts too until he started teaching there and taught the same man that bullied him in his bullies son. Harry was only protected by Snape because of his love for Lily or else dnape would've had to watch the same woman he loved die all over again along with the same man he despite for years. Snape will always be the original potions professor. The best defense against the dark arts professor and an even better headmaster of hogwarts. Even if his teaching ways were not agreeable and his headmaster duties were questionably terrifying. Snape is always and forever the best.

no now i’m sobbing bc what if my teacher died and i had to hold them, clamping shut their wound, watch them cry. my heart would break into a million fucking pieces. (i sob whenever i see that scene anyway bc when i see snape die, i see alan die, and that reminds me of his tragic death)

Remember he had to show he disliked Harry because of Voldemort found out otherwise. He would’ve had a much worse death. Snape didn’t hesitate to shield the trio at the whomping willow, if anyone saw that. Snape would’ve died sooner
