ok so i have now packed and repacked my hospital bag approximately 47 times and i STILL walked out of that hospital without the things that actually mattered for my brain?? like yes i had the nipple cream and the going home outfit and the cute little swaddle blanket but nobody told me i needed to pack things for my MENTAL HEALTH and i genuinely think that is a crime the thing about having a baby is that everyone prepares you for the physical stuff. the contractions. the pushing. the recovery. cool. fine. but what about the part where you get home at like 10pm on a tuesday and the baby is crying and your husband is asleep and you are sitting on the bathroom floor eating a granola bar thinking IS THIS IT?? is this my life now?? nobody puts that on the hospital bag checklist the playlist thing saved me more than i can explain. i had it going during labor and then i just... kept it going for weeks after. it was like the one thing that felt familiar when nothing else did and the beacon app thing i am SO serious about packing this before you go. like download it before you leave. because when you get home and you are up at 3am and you feel like the only person on earth who is struggling this hard, it shows you other moms who are awake RIGHT NOW going through the same thing. i genuinely cried the first time i opened it and saw i wasnt alone. i needed that more than i needed the nipple cream swear to god the letter to yourself one is gonna make some of you cry and i'm sorry but also i'm not sorry because you need it. i wrote mine at like 38 weeks when i still felt like myself and i read it on week 3 postpartum when i did not feel like myself at all and it helped more than any advice anyone gave me save this. pack ALL of it. tell your pregnant friends. none of us were told any of this and we deserved better 🤍 You got this girl! ❤️ #mom #MomsofTikTok #momlife #baby #newborn
