the invasion of Kuwait was the fork that broke the camel's back..it was the beggening of the end of Saddam's bloody era Saddam would be gone by then.the only reason tge American postponed the operation was the massive uprising of Muslims of shiaa on middle and all south of Iraq .the Americans feared Iraq would be another iran in the region ,pluse if shiaa in Iraq allied with Islamic Republic of Iran which is the same denomination, that would be a disaster threatening their close interests on the gulf region..so they allowed Saddam's regime to stay another long 12 years before they toppled the regime once and for all...their puppy in the region bite tge hand that feed him,so he has to go.
