I don’t understand why we have these kind of taxes. Honestly, if you live in Spain, I don’t see why you should pay less tax. Living here is not a right, you’re welcome in our country, but if you have a higher salary than the locals, you should contribute more.

Also… it means that if you have investments outside Spain, an ETF like S&P 500 for example, you invest in those 6 years and then sell everything before Beckham law expires, and reinvest everything straight after. All the gain is not taxed thanks to Beckham law

Not even like that. There is a huge misunderstanding about foreign income, in short hacienda treats only capital gain from real estate, investments, rentals of your own property etc, so passive income. All active income belongs to Spain, even if you do that via company which doesn’t belong to Spain.

Why would U be subject to CGT taxes on your US home when you're exempt in the US? The tax treaty suggests that you'd be tax exempt in Spain too, no?

It’s such a shame to see people evade taxes that are paid in sake of the community they willingly emigrated to, considering that the amount of money you are “saving” you will be extensively using to finance infrastructures that are out of reach for most people living there. You come to Spain for the weather and “the Spanish way of living” like it’s a hotel stays and that’s why people in Europe have American fatigue. Move to Spain, all are welcome, but contribute to community.
