related point, don't say to female trainees that women don't do well in that field or that it's hard to have a family in the field, unless they specifically ask!

My wife is training to be a PICU physician. Everyone outside of PICU especially, adult physicians, tell her not to do it because it’s sad meanwhile they’ve never worked a day of their lives in the PICU. Advice is good but especially in the medical field a lot of people say things without great rationale behind it

I’m sorry being sued is a thing for docs in the US. Norwegian doc here, and we don’t really get sued, but there are of course repercussions for physicians who act inappropriately

Give me warnings about pediatric surgery plz. I’m half way through my internship I’m leaning towards it heavily even Thu I have a decent chance to get a spot in “emergency trauma. ICU & plastic surgery”.

Rotated in all kinds of specialtie and most people where unhappy, then i found my interest in pathology, rotated there and everyone was genuenly satisfied, happy and invited me aswell to do path
