This also actually happened to me. Some people broke into my Aunts home after she passed. They claimed it was “abandoned” but we’d been there every weekend after her death (we couldn’t go in the week because we worked full time) and it was VERY obvious that people had been there and it wasn’t abandoned!!! They moved things, broke things, and took photos and videos and posted them online. I’ve tried getting them taken down, but they don’t respond. I dread finding more. It broke my heart and felt so violating. It makes me SO angry that people think this is okay to do!!!!! I cannot understand it.

I’m not dead but my house burnt down enough for it to be condemned/unliveable, and immediately I had neighbors calling me about strangers breaking in and robbing what was left. Mind you I lost EVERYTHING in that fire and people took it as a chance to scavenge through what was left of my life

same thing has happened to my great grandparents house three different times over the years! we’ve constantly kept it mowed and everything and have cameras up yet it’s still gotten broken into. we’ve even had a ton of family pictures stolen that we’ll never get back. it used to be such a nice house, but after all the break ins were just gonna have to tear it down bc it’ll be too expensive to fix

People actually have no respect. When I was a kid our house had a major fire that left it uninhabitable but only covered most of our belongings in smoke, and within days thief’s broke in and stole everything. My dad’s gun safe full of antique irreplaceable guns/heirlooms, my mom’s Versace wedding dress. Just literally everything. It was gut wrenching. Everything we had left that was salvageable was just gone.

my father died last month and we didn't find out for 3 days. he was in a trailer with his friends. theres videos of people entering and leaving with his things, after his estimated time of death, and it still wasn't reported for a few days. they walked around his lifeless body to rob him.
