My first car I bought after I enlisted was a 79 Chevy el Camino for 1300 and I bought it at the school house the guy towed it all the way to Camp Lejeune/Camp Johnson. I rode with him and he dropped it off at my Barracks parking lot. Every day after school, I’d work on it, but they have this rule when you’re not supposed to work on vehicles on base which is bs but company commander eventually got word in order me to get it off base and then yelled at me for driving it since once you’re in the school house you’re not allowed to drive a POV
