I personally don't want children in my presence who are getting suspended in school. I don't reward terrible behavior or anyone failing to perform at their job. Even if being a middle school student is your job.

Ten years ago I was at an appointment and the doctor did tell me I need dialysis. I told my mom this news. She shared it on Facebook but it wasn’t a devastating post it was more of a “feel sorry for me“ post like she was the one who was going to be hooked up to a machine cleaning blood three times a week for three hours for eight years until I got my transplant 😑

I dont think you are wrong here. I was raised with /and raised my kids with 2 points...1) "Praise in public, and punish in private" (and the word punish could be correct or advise or guide, The P. word is just because it "sounds better"... all P words...But 2) Remember who ypu are and the family name you bear. Your behavior is a reflection of how your parents are raising you. Its not about "secrets" its about protecting the reputation of the family and self. So there is always a way to.improve without others reminding you of your failures.
