you're very correct my brother on the Bomaru incident and what you're saying is the exact story I was told at the time I visited Bomaru in 2010. The vehicle was actually to be sold but Major Foday personalized the vehicle and couldn't pay. According to eyewitness accounts in 2010, most of the military personnel deployed to Bomaru were in Baiwala for a football match at the time the NPFL attacked Bomaru. In fact there was only one old woman (whose name I have forgotten) who witnessed the first attack in Bomaru that was still alive and in Bomaru at the time of my visit. The initial intention of the NPFL was not a war but to retrieve their vehicle, though they later decided to stay in Bomaru for fear of being attacked in their homeland by reinforcement troops from Sierra Leone, which opportunity Foday Sankoh heard and utilized to his advantage. The names of all the 13 people that were killed on the first day of the attack were on a Tablet at the monument built in Bomaru.

foday sankoh entered SL 🇸🇱 through bomaru with foreign troops from Liberia and bokinafaso, who trained so many Sierra Leonean volunteers to fight the war. that's why the war started from kailahun district not pujehun district.

As an avid fan of BBC, I had just completed laying the foundation of my house when the Focus on Africa BBC headline reported that the "Sierra Leonean rebel leader, Corporal Foday Sankoh, has reported that his RUF forces have invaded Sierra Leone through the border town known as Bomaru in Kailahun District." The BBC African service can be contacted for the validation of this account by their reporter which includes voice recording of Corporal Foday Sankoh.
