How to have a body odour conversation… Never an easy conversation to have, but sometimes necessary.  There are many reasons someone might smell of body odour, for example medical issues, hormonal changes, menopause, religious practices, stress or they simply may not realise.  Here’s a respectful 4-step structure to approach this kind of conversation: 1️⃣ Ask for permission.  Let them know you need to raise something sensitive and check if now is a good time 2️⃣ Share your intention.  Make it clear you’re coming from a place of care, not criticism 3️⃣ Raise the issue kindly.  This could sound like:  “I’ve noticed sometimes you’ve been smelling of body odour recently, I know there can be all sorts of reasons behind this, so first and foremost I wanted to check if you’re ok?” Avoid saying that others have raised it, as this can feel shaming and isolating.  4️⃣ Offer support.
