Is there a reason why he isnt taking the Duke point Ferry? Im just seeing this post now. More importantly I want to say thank you to your husband for his service. I'm sorry your family is going through the stress due to his sacrificing his time to help save other families homes, etc.. I hope you find a solution love

Puppy, have you checked out Harbour Air or the Hellijet? I know they are more expensive but it does give options. Also, Van to Vic sux but if it has to go that way, tell him to take the mill bay ferry from Brentwood to cut down on time and stress?

Call B.C. Ferries reservation line and actually talk to someone and tell them he’s a wildfire worker they may make him priority

My hubby has the same sleep test thing done. Not sure on the island but it’s not a huge deal to get booked in or changed. Can it be moved for a month?

for the sleep apnea test u can ask if they can lend you the equipment so he can do the test at home I'm in quebec and thats what they did just explain your situation thoughts and prayers are with you all 🙏🏻❤️

call BC ferries because it's medical he may have to go sit in line and wait or walk on the ferry because they require the booking but medical I would call the BC ferries line they may put him on standby for a day or two so it's worth while giving them a call

I am so sorry. my parents fought forest fores most my life for the bc government....so unpredictable. at least he isn't up north or out of province of though. hope it gets figured out 🤞🏽

Try Black Ball Ferry Line or Hullo Ferries. Both have walk on. Doesn't say if Hullo takes cars. Hope one can help.

I’m sorry, I don’t have anything helpful to suggest, however, I did want to say, I appreciate him and his fellow firefighters more than they probably know. I have several people I’m close to that have been evacuated. Thankful to him for doing his utmost to keep them safe 💖

When I was in Vancouver, I seen people taking a boat taxi or something or even boarding a private flight. I don't know how much that cost, but that might be an option.

I have always gotten a reservation when I need it by refreshing the page. The other option you could try would be Halu ferry or helicopter. My sisters use both of those options often.

The other thing that I can recommend is assured loading card. he can buy it and use it the same day you have to buy. I believe it's 10 sailings and it's like two grand but each sailing is a person and a vehicle and you don't need a reservation then you just use that. my husband used to work away and never knew what ferry he could catch so we couldn't book reservations and this card was a lifesaver multiple times.
