@myenglishcountrycottage: Summer garden party under the trees. A birthday of extreme joy (and yes I can still wang on about it because July isn't over yet so it's still my birthday month). A table filled with flowers, family, friends and fabulous food. We have taken to sharing the hosting duties between us so that one family hosts whilst the others bring food and drink. Not only does this make hosting so much easier and a joy to host (I was able to spend hours with my flowers!!) but it also creates a world of new dishes to taste and inspiration for the next summer supper. It also means that the children try the new dishes without the look of suspicion that crosses their faces whenever I try a new recipe, they also seem to like them with out the caveat "but I wouldn't want it again for at least another month..." (I may be guilty of cooking the same meal over and over again once I find a hit!!!). But now I have lots of recipes to try and they have to eat them because they said they loved them (next time must record this for evidence)!!! Hurray for food and friends and fancy dishes!
