so the lore is: they were besties besties in the 1989 era; they stopped hanging out during lover era, allegedly because karlie had smth to do with scooter buying her masters, because: 1. taylors close friends were liking tweets about karlie being a fake friend 2. karlie is friendly with scooter, there are lots of photos of them hanging out in a group 3. and that line in "its time to go" abt a sister who is "not a twin from your dreams, she's a crook who was caught" is also allegedly abt karlie so the implications are there with this whole song being metaphorical abt the masters situation

Having lived through a ED competitive best friendship in my late teens and having to end the friendship to seek treatment (but wanting to be friends) it’s really relatable knowing TS was going through her own ed struggles during 1989 when she and Karlie were together so frequently and so close.
