I’m retiring at 55, my parents did and they have no regrets. They’re in their upper 70’s now. You have to live within your means.

I retired at 58 in 2020. I worked in Auto Mfg company IT department for 37.5 years. Get a monthly pension that covers my expenses. Also have SS, stocks & 401K. I feel very blessed to be in the position I’m in.

My cousin just died at age 60. She was younger than me. I’m retiring asap!! Long life isn’t a guarantee!

46 but not by my own choice. Union pension and disability was OK in the beginning but now 14 years later and im hanging on. Gonna have to hit the 401k soon

Yah, get a pension then the mayor or governor decides to raid the fund and you can’t stop them. The same thing with S.S. the gov’t has “borrowed” from it four times, not paid it back and obviously eliminated the “lockbox”. 401k and put as much as you can as early in life as you can. NYC and CA among others took pensions.
