@nodatingera: Avoidant Attachment From the Inside My Personal Story and Where It All Began. Because understanding where your patterns come from is the first step to finally changing them. Have you ever wondered why getting close to people feels so uncomfortable even when that closeness is exactly what you say you want?#avoidantattachment #HealingJourney #SelfImprovement #addiction #personalgrowth
So true - great post I’ve been on the same journey and it’s still a lot of work within relationships even when your aware of your triggers 🙏

My problem with avoidants is that most have a crippling fear of abandonment yet have no problem abandoning everyone around them. Scared of getting hurt but not afraid to hurt others. I can sympathise with their past but that doesn’t excuse their current behaviour. Glad you’re healing though

And anxious attachment is developed from exactly the same and they end up with avoidents and it’s a push pull effect 🙈it’s such a hard dynamic because your both dealing with what your past trauma inner work has to be done to break this.Glad your healing it takes a lot ❤️

I am an anxious empath in love with and avoidant, I am absolutely traumatised.
He told me last week he only wants to be friends, when I said ok, then he stopped communication all together. Its heartbreaking.

It’s good that you’ve taken ownership for your part in relationships and worked on you, now hopefully you’ll find your person who you can explore that beautiful relationship when you’re ready. X😊

Id advise if you know you are an avoidant seek help and dont enter into a relationship unless you've got the right help, its not fair on the other person.

What a honest description of your experience and perspective. But you describe the dynamics in a rational way. What I (and perhaps others too) find particularly interesting is this: could you describe the emotions you felt when you were triggered and your nervous system became overwhelmed? Did you go into a shutdown and how long did it take for you to regulate yourself again? And what techniques do you use now to deal with triggers or don’t you get triggered anymore?

But why does an avoidant not want to be with someone who loves them with all their heart 😏

: : : : I adore my one I fell for all this year — had to end it last week broke my own heart as yes he probs doesn’t realise is one though I’ve hinted it he’s probs forgotten.. I have given him endless patience understanding and space — you name it I did it ..and he still did the classic u turn after showing me deep affection and kindness words and promises to see me soon xx blahhh and then awolled again — I thought surely to god not again . Yes it seemed a game of pull me in fool me and go silent 🔇 … on repeat . I couldn’t stand any more I was just tearing myself apart all the time with confusion . I will always adore him but I can’t be in this dynamic any more - it’s not good for me - so that’s that sadly . Never cried as much during a relationship as the one with him .yes I’m a 50% anxious but - why should I pay the price for Who hurt him in his past ie they hurt us when we weren’t the original instigator of their trauma - we didn’t commit the original crime !
