Genuinely curious about the Uyghur stuff as I feel like all the information I know is propaganda from tbh sides. America has never cared about Muslim people until it’s time to say China are mistreating them and the videos and accounts saying you can visit Xinjang and talk to them yourself about how they’re treated if you really want to see if they’re oppressed or not. From my understanding this all started with the west backing and pushing radicalisation/Wahhabism onto groups to oppose China and the stuff if consumed that’s felt like it had a Chinese bias almost downplays the malpractice China does while trying to reverse the radicalisation or says why do the west care they do worse as if we can’t focus on two issues at once. Though I do think the situation as a whole has been a powerful tool for anti-Chinese propaganda which im trying to unlearn as the red scare and McCarthyism has done its damage to the masses already
