since you seem to value the opinion of female people more than that of others (which i think is wrong, but sure, you do you i really don't care) let me, a female person, who is an trans man, give my piece. firstly, I will say that I think EVERYBODY!!! should go to therapy. every single human being, because therapy is GOOD! You never know what unresolved issues you might have, and even if you have no issues it's just good to talk to someone about your stress! it's genuinely just a good thing for every person. but secondly. and my main point, the term cisgender was coined by a CIS WOMAN. Her name is Dana Defosse (you can look her up if you don't believe me - do your own research with UNBIASED sources - and she coined it SPECIFICALLY so that trans people didn't feel othered in settings such as medical settings and in documents or forms (eg 'man' and 'trans man' is othering but 'cis man' and 'trans man' is not as they're both just descriptors of the way your gender interacts with your AGAB - assigned gender at birth, where the doctor looks at your parts and announces what they think you are. this term is used not only for trans people, but for the cases of intersex people where the external parts may not match the internal parts, as no further testing is likely to ever be done to figure that out while at infant stage). the words 'cis' and 'trans' are ADJECTIVES - describing words. words used to describe the noun they come before. there is NOTHING more to it than that. if you think it's a slur, you're wrong. slurs are actively harmful words with HISTORY(!!!!) of harmful use that are used to systemically put people down. the word 'cis' does not do this. if you think 'cis' is so bad, then STOP using 'trans' too, because they are equal and opposite terms (antonyms). I encourage you to do your own research with sources of multiple biases, to logically piece together what may be inconsistent, as things we hear are very biased these days and finding accurate information is very difficult. I've been doing research since I was a teen as I came out at a young age and have since been trying to deeply understand both myself and others. I am happy to answer any questions!
