My Nanny was such a good cook, but I was fussy, so if she was making a steak pie for a big family meal, she’d make me my own little cheeseburger pie. She was the loveliest.

My mum had the same saucepan your nan has that she mashed the potatoes in and we swore it made the best mash! My dad had to retire it a few years ago as he had burned the wooden handle so much it had become very wobbly, but it's still in the cupboard as he can't bear to throw it away as mum spent a week's wages on it when they got married!

I lived with my gran when I was at college as she lived 10 minutes away and she used to spoil me so much. she used to make me the most amazing cottage pie with cheesy mash topping and her gammon, egg and chips was the best. she died 10 years ago but I was given her recipe book and now I make those recipes for my children

My grandad did the same thing. He wrote in a diary every day since the 70s. When he passed, I went through some of them and most of it was about the most simple thing he did in the day (e.g. ‘went to the shop), but other entities made me cry. He wrote about the day I was born and I sobbed my eyes out

my grandad writes a diary every night. I used to help him sat in their caravan. he also had a video recorder and was at every party/holiday videoing everything. We all had a video tape called the family video 🥰

I take my nan out every other tuesday to do our big food shops together then we go out for lunch. very close to my grandparents as I was raised by a single mum. I was my grandads carer for about 3 months before he died with MND.
