@socratessworld1: Immigration Fact-Check 047 🇬🇧 If you’re a dependant on your partner’s visa and trapped in an abusive relationship — this is for you. The Migrant Victims of Domestic Abuse Concession (MVDAC) gives you 3 months’ leave OUTSIDE the normal rules, with access to public funds and the right to work, so you can safely leave. During those 3 months you can look for a new route — a job with a CoS, education, or in some cases apply for settlement. IMPORTANT: settlement (ILR) on domestic abuse grounds is NOT available to everyone who gets the 3-month leave. If you were a partner under the standard spouse route, you likely qualify. If you were a dependant on a Skilled Worker, Student, or Graduate visa, you can still get the 3-month safety window, but that specific settlement route generally isn’t open to you — this gap has been directly criticised by the UK’s own Domestic Abuse Commissioner. If you are experiencing domestic abuse, please reach out to a regulated immigration adviser or a domestic abuse support service as soon as possible — you don’t have to face this alone.#immigration #tiktokuk #tiktoknigeria #nigeria #japa
