Absolutely. The Alamo Defenders were defending slavery. They never say this during the documentary movie they show at The Alamo.

México constitución: “every man that steps foot on Mexican soil shall be a free man” they did it because they wanted to help those that escaped.

Those weren't even real Texans. They were "americans" who were allowed to settle there to work the land

Why isn’t this taught in Mexican schools or history books? This idea makes total sense but it’s weird Mexicans don’t mention this 😳

And actually the fist free black community in America was founded in Mexico, Yanga de los negros, Veracruz where Yanga a former prince scaped slavery and made an alliance with the native Americans and fought against Spaniards. The alliance was so strong they were never defeated.

As a Mexican myself I remember visiting the Alamo and reading about this and it felt so weird to read the history of it because I knew the other side of the story and it is far from what they teach in there.

Mexican here on a "fact I had to learn by myself" Maximilian of Austria wasn't evil, he was tricked to come here, he was killed because he was against the powerful being even more powerful. Also, I learned that the "all good" Benito Juarez was kinda evil, bro tried to hide the fact that he was from an indigenous origin, and actively repressed that people

osea, si me imaginé que ustedes no conocían ésa parte de la Historia de Texas, pero nunca pensé que llegaría el día donde lo iba a confirmar 😅; en efecto, Texas se independizó de México porque no querían seguir la Prohibición de la esclavitud.
