It’s so heartbreaking to hear male victims of this kind of abuse echo the exact same sentiments as female victims: being treated as an object, worry that speaking up will be seen as a publicity stunt, being accused of being overly sensitive when abused… victims are valid regardless of gender. That women are more likely to experience this kind of violence than men doesn’t mean male victims don’t exist and aren’t valid.
