the only thing I cant agree on is this- god, the universe, what have you- gave us the tool of intelligence to prevent death and scary things happening during pregnancy. our intelligence is a gift... prevention of infant and mother death is a gift. at one point this did not exist and we as people said "no more... we will do our best to learn how to prevent babies from not coming home" I understand the mistrust with some modern medicine... i do. But this is part of being human- evolving past "whatever happens, happens and we must do it the natural way" we build homes for shelter, we build fences to keep our livestock in, we create clothing to protect us from the cold... we have - as a species- determined our needs and created our spaces to meet them. why is medical intervention during pregnancy- not considered the natural evolution of our needs like anything else?
