I work for my state's medicaid agency and the moral is through the floor. Worst of all, these changes roll out AFTER the election in November (on purpose based on the bill) so many people who will lose their care are oblivious to it till it's too late. :(

My husband had to constantly prove he still had MS when he went on disability. It’s insane to hear them ask the question “do you still have MS?” I do 24/7 care for him bc he can no longer take care of himself. No, I don’t get paid for it either. I’m exhausted at age 67, and I’m not sure I can continue this into my 80’s. Healthcare is too expensive, this disease sucks a family dry. 😡

I used to work in long-term disability and Social Security already is difficult to get approved & too many people die of cancer BEFORE they get approved.

damn, glad I went through cancer in 2009, rather than now. mind you, if they'd have liked me to come in and throw up on their shoes for 3 or 4 days every two weeks for six months straight while I was going through chemo I probably would have been more than happy to do so. that stuff wiped me out for almost the entirety of the two weeks. there was zero way I could have worked, I was lucky to get out of bed most days.

OK, let’s just also point out. I am disabled and I am privileged in my disability however however when they talk about this, they seem to not understand or care that some of the issue for some people with disabilities and chronic health conditions nobody would hire them no matter what rules they make. This is ridiculous.

Every two years or so I have to prove that my 31 year old is disabled enough. You know, the one who has a G-Tube, PICC line an Appendocecostomy just to go 💩every day. The one I have to dress for day program and cook for, give all her oral meds to, make all appointments and decisions for. The woman who acts like a 5 year old and carries a Lambchop puppet everywhere with her. Sure, she can work 80 hours a week. With CONSTANT redirection and someone to manage her emotions and toilet breaks and Type 1 Diabetes. Ok cool.

I have MS and even though my own neurologist wrote me a letter to get my disability plates and parks pass, etc. I can’t actually get on disability because they have their own doctor to tell you that you’re not disabled and now I’m not even gonna get Medicaid like it’s just totally eugenics out here

I’ve been diagnosed with Crohn’s for years now. I can barely go a few hours without sitting on a toilet for 30+ minutes multiple times a day. I won’t even try to get disability because the hoops they’ve created to get it are fucking insane. And I know there are people WAY WORSE than me and can’t even get it.
