@thefinancialfreedomgirl: What’s the role of influencers in politics? Here are some of my thoughts on the topic as an “influencer” who likes to touch on politics in her content #commentary #politics #contentcreator #creatoreconomy #influencers Thanks @aapivictoryfund for letting me join this event and think more deeply about a creator’s role in political advocacy!

The problem is influencers are getting their information from slop sources that are dishonest. Data centers and Epstein are prime examples of influencers spreading straight up lies

I would say to perpetuate their own echo Chambers, never tell the full truth, and constantly be disingenuous. most content creators end up sounding like headline readers rather than actually giving the full story as to why certain things went certain ways 🤷🏽

In a perfect world, I would agree with you. But some influencers are only in it for themselves and sometimes it’s hard to tell. Well I consider myself the non-influencer because I don’t influence anyone 😂

They provide context where politicians dont. Headline headline headlines with no context is why we are so divided cause they dont have any context

People who have a platform they use to sell me something should not find it unusual when I don’t want them engaging in social or political discourse using that same platform. You can discuss your opinion on the impacts of legislation on the thing you are selling but its still pretty weird. Same reason why a car dealership with a giant trump mascot or a contractor who makes his crew where company branded shirts that also say pro-harris on them are out of place. Your business isn’t the place for the conversation because the bias is unclear, am i getting ripped off at the dealership because i have a bernie stick eron my trade-in? Or is the contractors quote higher because he saw the ken paxton sign on my lawn? Am i getting served this “news” from this influencer who cosplays as a journalist when its actually an ad she was paid for? If you want to have the conversation create a separate account for that. Or accept that people are gonna be turned off by it.
