Okay. So I was only addressing the Argument that race swapping is racist towards Asians because it erases culture/race and identity. I countered that by demonstrating how visually, Asian characters do not represent the Asian phenotype what so ever. Why does that matter? Because when characters are race swapped nothing but their physical appearance is changed. If nothing but their physical appearance is changed, and the physical appearance does not carry culture or race what so ever, it’s quite literally impossible for it to be erased since it wasn’t present in the first place. You can’t erase something that was never there. The characters setting in Japan was never touched therefore no culture is erased. I don’t get why so many people act like thats unclear? 😭 And every time people argue that it IS racist they never state why. If the argument is that Asian culture is being erased, they never name WHAT is being erased. They just say that it is. You can’t say something and not give an example to it.
