My dad had an old Toyota Corolla that had this same problem and he Just hooked a bungee cord under the dash to hold it in gear since it only happened in 5th😂

Everyone saying synchros but honestly thats the last thing I’d check. I’d check transmission mounts and the linkage.

it's for a reason probably low in transmission fluid just ignore till it doesn't work anymore then just buy a new car when you can't find a transmission cause 20 dollars for fluid cost a lot more than a new car
