financial ombudsman!! same happened to my cousin, he got sold a faulty car! Finance company denied every mortal thing! They've collected the vehicle, its finally in the process of being resolved!

Your first issue was buying a Citroen…that’s user error. Especially the Cactus where it’s know for piston ring issues and valve seal leaks. Always research before you buy with vehicles - as a rough rule of thumb: 1. Avoid anything French, anything by from Stellantis Group, or Jaguar/Land Rover. 2. Avoid engines with a “wet belt”. 3: VAG cars - all mostly good, but Seat/Skoda/VW are the best value. 4: Other Germans - good, but expect some issues. 5: Just buy Japanese - apart from the CX-5 Diesel with the 100k turbos. Subaru are an excellent choice.

I have had the exact same problems……..with the exact same car. Do you know any mechanics that could take a look at the wet belt? I took mine in for its first service and MOT after spending most of the year putting lots of oil in. They said the same it’s probably the piston rings. Nobody checked the wet belt which what obviously degrading when it had been pointed out to me. It helped massively with the oil consumption. I’ve just had to have the catalytic converter done and had oil filter changed as this wasn’t done when the wet belt was and now the smoke has gone so hopefully it has sorted it. Worst car I have ever owned but it’s too late for me to try and prove this being 2.5 years into it. I know this doesn’t help with how they are being, I am more thinking if someone could have a look at the wet belt then you have that proof that it has been like that since you got it as it wouldn’t go from being okay to no good in that short time? 🤞 either way I really hope you get it sorted

Honestly THE worst people to deal with! Bought a car, broke down after 24 hours, got my money back…. eventually but was a constant battle over months and months.

Stop, the broker can’t do anything. You need to bring it up with the lender. They are responsible for the supply of the car.

Please please please read this!!!!! You have the right to refuse. you’re in the UK and bought a car from a dealer, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. You usually have a short-term right to reject the car within the first 30 days if it has a fault that was present when you bought it. If you reject it within that period, you can normally claim a full refund. After the first 30 days (and within the first 6 months): * The dealer usually has one opportunity to repair or replace the car. * If the repair fails, or they refuse to repair it, you can normally reject the car or ask for a price reduction. * For the first 6 months, it’s generally assumed the fault was present when you bought the car unless the dealer can prove otherwise.

Who is the actual finance provider? They’re who is responsible for the car. And is it not under warranty if you’ve had it less then 60 days? Usually cars come with 3 months warranty

Threaten legal action (solicitors) I did this with CINCH, they sorted all my repairs and reimbursed me all the money for hire cars etc. honestly I’d never buy a car online ever again

Small claims court your allowed to return a car if it’s faulty within 6 months it’s assumed the issue was there in the beginning sale of goods act

Return the vehicle and reverse the finance! I had to do that and the process was pretty smooth. You have the right to reverse the transaction if the car isn't fit for purpose.

I'm sorry this is happening to you. Its not until something goes wrong with cars that we realise their value in helping us get through our daily life. Hopefully they will come back with a quick resolution, but I won't be holding my breath

delete the post.....sell it fast...chuck some thick oil in engine......and buy a toyota or honda....they are most reliable brands....citron ebound to go wrong rarely anyone wins with dealers.

We are 8 months with ombudsman after using car24/7 . Had the car 4 days and rejected it due to failed shock absorber , had independent inspection and still waiting and had no car since January

take them to small claims court and contact the ombudsman as well as contact your bank as to potentially charge back all the costs.
