Adopt Paddy! ❤️ Fostered in Pineville, NC Come meet her and fall in love! Paddy is a gorgeous 5-month-old red heeler looking for a family to call her own. If you’re searching for a cattle dog with an incredibly gentle, affectionate personality, this sweet girl is the one. Most of the videos we have of Paddy are of her doing what she loves most, snuggling up to people! She has completely won over everyone she’s met, including the entire veterinary staff. Can you imagine having a cattle dog that is this sweet during her vet appointments? She’s truly a fan favorite wherever she goes. Paddy also loves playing with all of her foster siblings. Even while she wasn’t feeling her best, she remained happy, playful, and full of life, which made it such a surprise when her veterinarian discovered that what started as kennel cough had developed into pneumonia during her recovery. She has now completed multiple rounds of antibiotics, her treatment was adjusted, and she’s feeling so much better. She’s officially ready to find her forever home! At her most recent recheck, the veterinarian detected a Grade 3 heart murmur that was not present at her previous recent visit. While we don’t yet know whether this will be temporary or permanent, it’s possible for puppies recovering from illness or inflammation to have a murmur become noticeable during or after their recovery. Some murmurs resolve as puppies heal and mature, while others may require monitoring over time. Because of this, we’re looking for a committed adopter who will love Paddy through every stage of life and continue routine veterinary follow-up to see how things progress. Right now, Paddy doesn’t know she’s any different—she’s simply a happy, playful, cuddly puppy who is ready to live life to the fullest. After spending so much of her young life at the vet, we think she’s earned a break. She’s ready to trade exam rooms for cozy couches, long naps, playtime with her family, and all the love she’s been waiting for.
