This might be a long shot but I am looking for some advice!!! Hi, my names Kiara and quite a while ago I was inspired by your videos and realised I needed airway expansion. I went to an airway orthodontist and I was given an alf appliance. I have been using it for just over a year now and honestly I don’t feel as if it has done much besides move a couple of my teeth. At the beginning of my Alf journey, I did feel like my pallet was expanding, but after a couple months I feel as if it stopped and the Alf appliance has started shifting my teeth. I’m not completely sure if this is the facts but it’s just something ive felt and somewhat noticed. I’ve been worried about this for a while now and don’t really know who else to seek advice. I am aged 19 and I’m wondering if maybe I’m too old for an ALF appliance and my sutures have closed. Do you think I should’ve instead being given something similar to a MARPE appliance or MASPE? I am still feeling TMJ pain but not always as bad as it was. I’m still grinding my teeth at night and I still feel as if my bike isn’t completely aligned. What would you recommend I do? Do you think that the Alf appliance was a bad diagnosis or should I continue with the treatment?
