The older I get, the more I believe luck is real. People love saying, "There's no such thing as luck, only hard work." I don't completely agree. I've seen hardworking people struggle for years, while someone else makes one decision, meets one person, or happens to be in the right place at the right time, and their life changes overnight. That doesn't mean hard work isn't important. It is. But hard work alone doesn't guarantee success. Sometimes you need timing. Sometimes you need opportunity. Sometimes you need someone to notice you. And honestly, all of those things have an element of luck. Think about it. Two people can have the same talent, the same determination, and put in the same amount of effort. One becomes successful because their video goes viral or they meet the right mentor. The other remains unknown. Was one more hardworking? Not necessarily. Sometimes life just deals people different cards. The mistake many people make is waiting for luck instead of preparing for it. Luck is far more useful when you're ready. If an opportunity comes and you don't have the skills to take advantage of it, then that lucky moment disappears just as quickly as it arrived. So my view is simple. Work as if luck doesn't exist, but stay humble enough to admit that luck can play a huge role in where people end up. Success is usually a combination of preparation, consistency, good decisions, and a little bit of fortune. Ignoring any one of those gives you an incomplete picture of how life really works.
