This is the most overblown criticism in education. Today. The continual bawling and whining about administrators not having been in the classroom much or at all. This is simply not the problem. These administrators are working within a system that is underfunded, outdated and technophobic. And almost immune to progress and change is brutal in its schedule. And the teacher certification and professional development requirements it has the ability through the active use of new technologies to cut our class sizes in half. Personalize the pace and curriculums that are students work through. But we keep doubling down on the same old 1950s style system that does not work today. And what do educators talk about stupid stuff like this.

I love The Things They Carried, I loved it so much that my English teacher gave me her copy as a graduation gift, I did a huge presentation on it and she kept my slides to introduce the unit for the following school year

Our admin get in the classroom as much as they can. I have had my admin cover my class in emergency situations several times. He subbed my first class so I could go to my son's honor roll or when I was having a moment

I just want to share 2 stories: 1. The principal at the last school I was at never taught in an elementary school and was at least 10 years out of teaching altogether. 2. The person on the school board who was in charge of making changes to our district kindergarten curriculum never taught kindergarten and hadn't been in a classroom in 30+ years and was old as dirt. (not to be rude but there's no way she was able to relate at all to a 5 year old today) Our district lost half of their teachers/a good bit of TAs and inclusion.
