Feet high on the platform shifts more work to the glutes and hamstrings. This is because a higher foot position increases hip flexion through the movement, which means the glutes have to work harder to extend the hip back out. Feet low on the platform shifts more work to the quads. A lower foot position increases knee flexion relative to hip flexion, so the quads take on more of the pressing load. Feet wide and turned out slightly targets the inner thighs and glutes more. Feet narrow and closer together shifts emphasis toward the outer quads.
