@sissalafamilymedia: The Sissala are an indigenous ethnic group in Ghana and across the neighbouring countries. They share ancestral roots with the Vagla, Dega, Tampulma and Chakala. They are cousins to the Kasena and a founding member of the Gonja Kingdom. An alliance between the Mande warriors and the Sissala Family Ethnic groups comprising Sissala, Dega, Tampulma and Vagla led to the conquest of vast lands in the northern parts of Ghana which were inhabited by Guan tribes under the occupation of the Mole-Dagbani groups. This alliance and conquest gave rise to the Powerful Gonja Kingdom. Till date, the Mande warriors coming from the old Songhai Empire with vast knowledge of statemanship holds the Chieftaincy titles whiles the Sissala, Dega and Tampulma remain warriors for the Kingdom. The Vagla are the Spiritual and titular land custodians of the Gonja Kingdom. These people are united by blood, family and brotherhood. Any member of these tribes can just enter the home of the other and partake in the meals being served and be offered an accomodation with ease because they are one family.
