Another thing to consider too that I don’t see people mention often on here is that if you applied to one department but didn’t get in for whatever reason, the next department you apply to will look at why you were disqualified with that previous department. That goes on and on like a domino effect, so if you have something that prevented you from getting into one department, it doesn’t mean you won’t ever get hired, just know that any future department will look into why you were disqualified with the previous like I said.

In my opinion they shouldn't hold it against someone for something they don't remember, if they find it they should ask about it to see if that person will tell the truth about what they found. Now if it's something you got into trouble about it should be able to remember it. On my packet they asked if I had any established relationship after 18, I am lucky on that part had a hand full of hook ups/dates, but met my wife very early.

Is it hard to get hired at 21? Like do most departments always favor better candidates or how can you increase your chances getting hired at a younger age?

So, not exactly law enforcement. But, I did a short stint in security back in 2011-12. I got my regular security license then I went on to get my armed security license. But, never actually went into armed. And, I’m glad I didn’t. Because there were some stories locally and other places about these armed security officers pew pewing people without valid reason! 🫣🫣
