I’m sorry but as an African, outshining the bride is not possible in our own traditions, my uncle married a beautiful Indian woman and when I chose my dress she told me it wasn’t enough, took me back to the shop and we chose a good dress two times bigger…outshining the bride is an American or European thing….genuinely

In Indonesia, you can’t actually outshine a bride. Here’s an example of Padangnese (West Sumatra) bride costume. So yeah, wear whatever, as a guest, chance is you’re not gonna wear that headpiece 🥰

In our country we have HUNDRED of crowns and THOUSAND cultures. You can choose based from your family culture or your groom’s family culture. So that the guests can wear anything they want cause they will never outshines the bride. Better search “Indonesian wedding dress” bcs there’s a lot of cultural dress you’ll find
